Upper Tellico OHV Area - the famous Tellico area with extreme 4WD trails!
Members of Southern 4WD Association perform extensive trail maintenance in this area, usually in excess of $30,000 worth of volunteer labor, equipment usage and materials every year. Please do your best to keep the area in good shape!
Important Notes:
- You must stay on the designated trails in Tellico. Do not ride on illegal trails or wildcat trails!
- Possession of alcohol in your vehicle is prohibited by Forest Service regulations and the Rangers have the right to check your vehicles and coolers.
- Tellico is now part of the Forest Service Fee Demonstration Project, so a permit is required to ride here. Individuals may pay the $5 daily permit fee (exact change) at the entrance stations or buy an annual $30 permit at the Ranger station. 95% of the fees are directly returned to Tellico to maintain the area.
