Dodge NV4500 29 Spline, 1-1/8th 10 Spline Input Shaft Full Bellhousing Kit for GM V6 & V8 Engine with NP231 (AX15 & NV3550 Replacement)
The overall assembly length is 24.750". When performing an engine conversion at the same time as a NV4500 installation, driveline modifications are not normally required. The Advance Adapters bellhousing uses a new external slave cylinder that bolts to the outside of the bellhousing. The bellhousing requires the installation of a new GM input shaft. NOTE: The installation of the new GM input shaft may require the transmission endplay to be reset.
When coupled to the AX15 or NV3350, the stock transfer case used a 23 spline input gear. This kit comes with a new 29 spline input gear for the New Process 231 Transfer Case.
The transfer case adapter is the shortest design possible to couple to the New Process tranfer case. This adapter comes with a shifter bracket that allows the use of your stock transfer case shifter. Jeep TJ Wranglers require a different transfer case shifter bracket which can be switched before shipping the kit. These packaged kits include a new crossmember support which couples to the stock skid pan. Modifications will be required to your floorboard for the shifters and the skid pan will require new holes to be drilled for this crossmember support. A body lift kit is normally recommended for clearance. This kit should not be used on Jeep Cherokees due to the different transfer case shift controls.
These kits are also supplied with a new external slave cylinder. When coupling this new slave cylinder to your stock master cylinder, you will be required to use one of the following clutch fittings. The correct fitting will depend on which configuration you have on your stock master cylinder fitting.
