Now for most other manufacturers that would pose a problem. Luckily Body Armor uses some of the highest standards as you will see. When you lay the winch plate on top of the mounting surface you can see what I mean. There is about 3/4 of an inch clearance when the front bumper is securely mounted. Talk about a tight fit.

The best way we found to install the winch plate was to remove the top bolts on the bumper, and loosen the bottom ones. This allowed us to tilt the bumper forward.

With the front bumper loose and tilted forward, you can now easily install the 4 bolts, washers, etc. Once you've got them all in and started, go ahead and tighten them all. That way we are done with the winch plate.

Of course the winch plate install wouldn't be complete without a winch. We chose the Superwinch EPi 9.0.
