Eaton is the world's largest independent producer of torque controlling differentials for vehicle manufacturers and the automotive aftermarket. They have recently bought out Tractech and now manufacture the line of Detroit Lockers. Their product line now includes the Eaton Detroit Truetrac Differentials, the Eaton Detroit E-Z Lockers and the Eaton Detroit 4x4 Lockers.

The Detroit Locker maximizes traction by delivering 100% of the torque to both drive wheels. It is engineered to keep both wheels in a constant drive mode, and has the ability to automatically allow wheel speed differentiation when required. Applications are also available for C-Clip style axles.

Detroit Truetrac Limited Slip

Eaton’s expertise with carbon-disc limited slip differentials dates back to 1961 when they introduced the Eaton Posi™ Limited Slip Differential. The Eaton Posi™ achieved icon status later in the decade and through the 1970’s when it was offered as on option on all General Motors muscle cars. Today, their limited slip differentials product portfoilio also includes the Eaton Detroit Truetrac helical gear design.
